Hello there,
I hope that this message finds you open.
Open to the idea that this moment does not need to define the rest of your day unless you want it to.
Open to the notion that you are not in control of everything, but you can control what matters.
You can control how much time you make for yourself. You can control how you respond to the events happening around you. You can control how you respond to the thoughts in your own head.
If you don't believe me that's okay. I can't control your thoughts.
Let's just take a moment to pause. A moment to take stock. Is your mind buzzing with thoughts? Are you feeling calm? Is your face relaxed or your jaw clenched?
Now take a second to acknowledge how you are feeling in this moment. Decide if you want to carry this feeling with you for the rest of your day.
If not, send the feeling away. Imagine that feeling scribbled across a whiteboard and scrub that whiteboard clean. A fresh start. Remind yourself that YOU are loved. YOU are strong. YOU are enough. Imagine sending yourself one big bear hug.
If you do want to carry your feeling, let it wash over you. Keep track of this feeling, this warmth or positivity or self compassion. Feed this emotion as you continue your day. If you stray away from this warmth, take a moment to circle right on back.
No matter how you start the rest of your day, I wish you self compassion. I wish you mini moments of joy and at least one hearty laugh.
I wish for you to be open to the idea that you matter.
